The Mirage

Deep in African deserts, travelers may see what appears to be a small body of water. With hot, dry heat, blessings of water automatically quench your thirst. Yet, as they continue on the path, the water disappears, and realize they have been fooled by a mirage.

Our life contains similar illusions.

We think we know exactly what’s going on yet fail to realize deep-seated patterns that are really playing out in real-time. These distortions distract us from our true endeavors.

The distortions may involve holding on to the image of intimate relationships that in reality have been unloving for years. We may have expected something from someone or business partnerships that never turned out.

These continual disappointments require acknowledgment from our hearts. Feel and accept the sadness, and the grief, and let go. If we don’t accept the current situation, our energy gets depleted away from us and strips our valuable power.

What interactions weigh you down?

What interactions energize you?

What interactions become an equal exchange?

Reflect on your relationships and see which ones may be an optical illusion. If we’re afraid to feel the truth, we numb ourselves from the pain yet also numb ourselves from the deep rich pleasure. All relationships grow us. It's up to us to stay stuck, learn and grow, or commit to change.

It's time to improve your relationships and remove distortions. Stop avoiding and confront the issue head-on. Handling an issue and not avoiding it, will open up space for deep rich fulfilling opportunities.

A client several years ago was a triad of having a difficult conversation with her boss. We practiced the conversation. Afterward, she said that was easy, and wished I had done that months ago. With relief, a new pathway was carved out.

What courageous conversation will you have this week? Email me and let me know.
