Ever hit an obstacle?
Decades ago, this tree began growing on dirt. Yet as the journey continued. A massive rock underneath prevented the roots from going straight down. Nature operates differently. The roots simply moved along the moss-covered area, absorbing nutrients and water runoff from the rock until they reached deeper soil six feet below.
We humans, prefer to take the hard route. We overanalyze why the rock is in the way. We kick, holler, and scream why the fertile soil we longed for as kids - love, support, encouragement, never found its way to us. Then we spend our lives questioning and searching for it.
Whatever your childhood wound was - loss, abuse, neglect, lack of attention or affection, it left an internal scar on our hearts, invisible for others to see. The journey to give what we perceived as lacking is what we truly needed to give to ourselves and not reach for external sources.
Most prefer to hold on to the perceived pain and suffering rather than transform it. This would be the equivalent of a tree root growing in mid-air. Not exactly effectively in receiving the key nourishment our souls desire.
This healing journey becomes a lifelong story of twists, turns, triumphs, and upheavals. This journey shapes us in weird, wild, and unusual ways. Yet it’s in the transformation that we find the path to awakening.
For the bold and daring, this navigating and maneuvering eventually leads to miracles one day after another. This is when our wounds become wisdom nuggets that showcase our strength.
Walk through the wounds into wisdom, and our awakened path emerges with grace. We walk a new cycle of deep roots of stability and branches of abundance.
From here, our decisions become anchored in wisdom, not the fearful wounds of our regret and resentment. That's where applied discernment TM begins.
This week, ask:
- What part of your past have you been hiding that may now hold your deepest wisdom?
