While on a beautiful trip to Olympus, Turkey, rock climbing along the Mediterranean coast, we experienced breathtaking blue water, fresh food that melted in our mouth, and fun company with new found friends from all over the world.

While reading our guide book, yes, before traveling with smart phones, there was one sentence that said, “Hike Mount Chimaera.” No reason why. Simply hike Mt Chimera. 

As we left dinner that night, our hearts full from the amazement of the day, we over heard another group talk about heading to Mount Chimera. My friends and I looked at each other, looked at our watches, under a bright full moon. Let’s go.

Under a bright full moon, the night hike barely seemed dark at all. As our friends were experienced in the mountains, we had our headlamps with us and water for the hour journey up the mountain.

Watching our footing, we hiked up this rocky terrain. The moon began to reflect off the Mediterranean Sea below us, quite a peaceful sight in and of itself.

Suddenly we saw small flames coming out of the rock. It almost looked like someone chipped away rock and placed a candle. As we continued to walk up, theses little flames were everywhere. Simply defied logik.

We sat down and enjoyed the beauty. Under star light, full moon with the vast sea below us, these small flames created by natural gas pockets, twinkled with delight.

The beauty so breathtaking, our hearts calmed and peace washed over us as the moon dazzled us with light.

Its when we travel off the beaten path, experience something new that we are completely mind blown on the possibilities that life offers. The most amazing aspects of life are rarely planned for.

Miracles for some are fleeting. A once in a life time experience. Yet, in reality, miracles occur daily.

Create space and allow success to come in. These unexpected surprises tantalize our mind, body and spirt. This shatters what we think is possible. 

That evening, we never planned for or considered a night hike. Yet, we simply gave the space for something new and brilliant to come forward. By seizing the opportunity, we were delighted with a mind-blowing experience.
