Tug of war between power and love.
We all come in various shapes, sizes, and dimensions. With this, we serve different purposes. These differences become a tug of war between the various factions.
Imagine three different trees: Poplar Tree, Giant Redwood, and an Oak Tree.
The poplar tree grows super fast at a rate of 5-8 feet per year. Super tall, yet the core trunk is small in diameter and thin. It can easily break in a storm.
The redwood trees take almost 100 years to mature. The core trunk reaches diameters of several feet while it grows between 1.5 feet and 3 feet per year. Yet, the root system stays very shallow.
The oak tree grows 1-2 feet per year and reaches maturity in about 30 years. It has deep roots and a solid core trunk.
When we see the differences between the trees, this becomes an asset, not a liability. From here, our lives change forever.
The tug of war between power, fast growth, and love that sustains is real.
In our lives, we can power up fast and quick, then easily get toppled over by a quick windstorm. The quick rich scheme. The lottery winner who loses it all.
If we only have a solid core trunk of love, it takes us substantial time to reach our dreams and desires. Love without power usually leaves us empty inside. Spreading our love everywhere without supporting our own growth.
The tug of war between power and love is real. This is not either or. True depth and breadth require power and love at a sustainable pace.
This week, find the sweet spot between the two.
