First Tracks

Ever afraid to do something new, or leave a trace that you were even there in the first place?

The beauty of fresh snow can seem daunting to some and an opportunity to others. Those who love to ski live for a fresh, deep powder day.

The pine trees twinkle with the sun glistening off their branches. The crisp air tickles your nose hairs (reminding you that you even have them.)

The mad dash to the backcountry and open bowls, where it becomes a skier's delight.

As the ski chair delivers you into the backcountry. There's no turning back now. The only way down is through the heaping mounds of snow that Mother Nature dropped overnight.

Double-checking your boots. You're off to the races. Heading through the trees to the rarely discovered open bowl that only the clever know about.

Here, the first tracks are revealed. The pristine beauty of floating over tiny specks of frozen water -snowflakes. The only sound is you going - weeee - this is AWESOME!

No one else is around. You, the pine trees, and more snow than you know what to do with.

As you glide down, you never once think - I don't belong here. Instead, you believe you have every right to be here.

Other skiers were at a distance behind you, yet they couldn't keep up or get ahead.

You stop to take it all in. You look back at your fresh tracks.

You didn't need permission to leave the evidence. There was no playing small. You made sure that others saw your tracks.

Today, this is exactly where you belong. You, skis, the pine trees, and an open bowl, six ski lifts, and three mountains over from any parking lot.

This is the life you choose. Be visible. See my tracks.

You don't need permission to leave evidence. Allow your movement to be visible. Shine your radiance for others to see the way.

Where are you erasing your tracks instead of trusting they belong?
