Connected to Nature

Have you ever walked outside and an animal or insect caught your eye? For a brief few seconds, your focus gazed intently, mesmerized by this creature.

Whether it is a hummingbird fluttering near flowers, or

A squirrel running across the road, or

A butterfly that bounces in delight while you have an a-ha moment when reading a book passage.

Nature consistently speaks to us in ways we cannot fully understand, yet the meaning is deep, profound, and bears spiritual significance.

How aware are you of such events occurring daily?

This morning, a snake stopped me in my tracks. What was supposed to be a beautiful morning experience of fresh air, and sunshine came to a raging halt.

This particular snake, head raised off the ground, watching every move. While small, the snake oozed poisonous venom. Slowly my legs backtracked walking back into my home.

Snakes, with a calm, quiet demeanor do not make loud noises and sing. Instead, their covert manner conceals their presence for those not open to their surroundings. This quiet strength offers them a quick transition from one area to another. Only keen awareness allows them to be seen with their camouflage skin blending into the ground.

Not all transformation is seen. In the past few months, our society engaged in deep inner work—emotional security at its core.

What makes you feel safe?

What made you uncomfortable and crawl underneath your skin?

In what ways did you lose your power?

As a snake, who sheds its skin and emerges a new; now you are ready to emerge.
